At around 3:40 PM on February 11, 2026, the world turned upside down for forty dogs and their caretakers at the OSCAR facility in Andover, NJ. As a fire started, these forty dogs were sent out of their burning kennel, four of them running into the woods. The four that ran out into the woods were all found by the time that this was written. Most of these dogs are now safe, being sent to Happy Tails rescue, Hudson Happy Farm, or homes.
Sadly, three dogs have died due to the fire (some sources say 4 or 6 as well). The names of the dogs who died have not been said, but it’s just as devastating, whatever dogs they are.
But you can still help the survivors. They have a GoFundMe, linked at the bottom of the article. They have raised so much money, and I think they can make an even better kennel for the dogs they have right now and all of the future dogs.
They are frantically looking for foster owners or permanent owners, so if you have room, it could be a helpful thing to do. And if you are looking for a dog, now might be the right time.
